Totally new at this. How many people have been told they should start a blog or thought of starting one and then had to look at a blank screen .Hmmm. That would be me. But here I sit. The house is quiet, for the moment. Thinking about what needs to be done for a house of six, four of which are children--yikes! If my father in law can blog, well then so can I. Well, at least try!
Today I looked in the fridge to get the ingredients out to make 3 super lunches(my thought--kids are probably will be at lunch thinking, "Not again"") and saw four huge chunks of cheese. All different varieties, but still. Do we really need all that cheese which by the time we through half of them, they will have gotten past their prime or others would have been purchased. This is all ridiculous--FOUR chunks, courtesy of Sam's, of cheese plus other specialty ones picked up from the deli. I decided enough--time to stop!
My new goal is to stop buying so much and use up stuff before shopping for more. They all have their different likes and what they want. And I like to please theme and their tastes, but what ends up happening is that I go from Mom to restaurant owner. There is a ton of food in the freezer and deep freezer out in the garage.
And this type of buying has also spilled over into other parts of the house. Toys and clothes and such. And much does not go to use all the time. And ends up being clutter. Clutter in the fridge and house. And yes, I have watched many an episode of "Hoarders" and it scared the hell out of me! We aren't there and I certainly never want to be there. Does it start with cheese and then move on to empty boxes? ((Shudder))
The other week was heavy trash pick up and for some reason, this time it hit me hard. So much "stuff".
So, even though those 4 kids as mentioned above, won't be too thrilled, we are going to stop buying so much and use what we have. And donate it to someone who can use this. Don't worry--my kids will still be fed good meals, but it is time to simplify.
So my first entry is about cheese and clutter. Please hold all the rotten tomatoes for later. ha.
